Anesthesia Services

The Anesthesia Department of Dickinson County Healthcare System practices the concept of team anesthesia.  Your anesthesia care is evaluated and directed by an Anesthesiologist, and your anesthesia administration is performed by a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).  This concept is the most widely practiced method of anesthesia care, as it offers the highest quality and safest care.

The Anesthesiologist and Anesthetists are considered independent contractors of the Hospital.  Your insurance company will receive two separate charges, one for the Anesthesiologist and one for the Anesthetist.  These charges are usually slightly different amounts.  You will be responsible for any balance due that is not covered by your insurance company.
