Bone Densitometry
Bone Densitometry is a low-dose X-ray of the wrist, hip and spine to determine bone density as a way of detecting the onset of osteoporosis, a debilitating bone thinning disease. Technology at Dickinson Memorial Hospital includes Instant Vertebral Assessment (IVA). IVA is a rapid, ten-second, low-dose x-ray scan of the spine, taken in combination with a standard bone density test.
Bone Density exams are available at Dickinson Memorial Hospital and at Dickinson Medical Services in Bark River.
