Diabetes is a serious disease, but it can be controlled … we can help you learn how.
We are a team. You, your doctor / healthcare provider, and the Certified Diabetes Educators at the Dickinson Diabetes Center work together to improve your health.
We begin with a plan. Together we formulate an individual self-management plan for your diabetes … one that fits your lifestyle and makes sense for you.
We teach you how. In a relaxed learning environment, we will help you set goals to improve the self-management of your diabetes. We give you the necessary information and teach you the important skills you will need to reach your goals.
You are in good hands. Our staff includes Registered Nurses and Registered Dieticians who are Certified Diabetes Educators. They are also Certified Insulin Pump Trainers. Our staff holds memberships in the American Diabetes Association (ADA), American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE), Diabetes Advisory Board of Michigan, Michigan Organization of Diabetic Educators (MODE) and Dickinson Memorial Hospital’s Childhood Obesity Task Force.
