The Dickinson Emergency Department is available 24 hours per day / 7 days per week / 365 days per year.  Emergency Medicine trained physicians and staff work closely with other members of the medical staff, who provide call coverage in a variety of medical specialties.  In the event an on-call physician is not available in a particular specialty, transfer arrangements are made for you with other regional hospitals and medical centers. In those instances, patient’s are stabilized and transferred for additional medical treatment as needed.  A helipad is available onsite if this type of transfer is needed.

The Dickinson Emergency Department sees over 17,000 patients per year, making it one of the busiest hospitals in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
