At Dickinson Memorial Hospital, the Family Birth Center is more than just a cute name … it defines our philosophy.  Everything from the physical layout and technology, to the staff expertise and the focus on education is done with the whole family in mind.  Our mission, in addition to a safe and comfortable labor and delivery for mom, is to prepare the entire family for the arrival of your newest addition.

The Family Birth Center Suite design provides care for mom throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and post-partum in the same room – no uncomfortable shuttles.  Each suite is private,  beautifully decorated, and positioned within a very modern, state-of-the-art, high tech environment with many comforts of home.  The Family Birth Center is strategically positioned adjacent to the Operating Room in the event of a C-section.

Our highly trained, experienced obstetrical nurses provide a high level of clinical skill along with encouragement and personalized attention at one of life’s key moments.  In addition, the nursing staff offers a comprehensive childbirth education program that prepares you for the arrival of your new baby and a follow up Lactation program for breastfeeding mothers.
