• Holter Monitor

A Holter Monitor is a device that continuously records the heart’s EKG tracing. Your doctor may prescribe a Holter Monitor if you are having frequent cardiac symptoms. Electrodes are placed on the patient’s chest and are connected by wires to a small monitor. The monitor is typically worn for either 24, 48 or 72 hours. You will be given a diary in which you will be asked to document daily activities and symptoms while you are wearing the monitor. After completing the designated wear time, you are asked to return the monitor with your diary.  The EKG tracings, along with the diary, will be evaluated and interpreted by a physician to help diagnose any heart related conditions.
