Urological Surgery

The following urological surgical procedures are performed at Dickinson Memorial Hospital:

• Bladder Procedures:  Removal of bladder stones; TURBT - Treatment of bladder cancer; Cystoscopy – visualization of the bladder; Suprapubic Tube Placement – to drain the bladder
• Kidney Procedures:  Ureteroscopy – for kidney stones or certain cancers of the kidneys; Nephrectomy – Kidney removal
• Prostate / Urethra Procedures: TURP – Removal of parts of the prostate gland with a scope; Cryoablation of the Prostate – Freezing the prostate as a treatment for cancer; DVIU - Treatment for Urethral strictures; Slings for female stress incontinence
• Scrotum, Testes, Penis Procedures:  Radical and Simple Orchiectomy – Removal of Testicles; Orchiopexy – Fixation of testicle within scrotum; Drainage of the fluid around the testes; Removal of the epididymis; Circumcision
