Dickinson County Healthcare System Welcomes New Neurologist
Anh Thu Tran, MD is the newest member to the DCHS medical staff. Joining the staff at the Dickinson Diagnostic Neurology Clinic, Dr. Tran brings a passion for providing Neurodiagnostic medicine in our community.
Originally from Orange County, CA, and now residing in Iron Mountain, MI, Dr. Tran has decided to live and work in our area because of the people and the atmosphere. “Everyone I met was so nice and they made me feel so welcome. I immediately felt like I was home.”
Dr. Tran earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California, Riverside where she majored in Psychology. “I have always been fascinated by the human mind and how the body and mind work together. Neurology is an extension of that connection and I am looking forward to applying all my training and knowledge to help the people within this community who suffer from neurological disorders.”
Dr. Tran’s formal education culminated with her obtaining Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship followed by Neuro-intraoperative Monitoring fellowship from Keck Medical Center of USC in Los Angeles, CA. “My practice philosophy is based on caring for my patients through empowerment. Patients do better when they understand their disease and their role in working toward managing it. This type of involvement can only occur when I take the time to explain the process, educate the patient, and gain their trust.”
Dr. Tran will be seeing patients at the Dickinson Diagnostic Neurology Clinic located at 1100 South Carpenter Ave where she will be performing Electomyography (EMG) to help diagnose peripheral nerve disorders such as neuropathy and carpal tunnel syndrome. “I am so excited to be a part of the Dickinson County Healthcare System and I am honored to be working with such great Healthcare professionals.” In addition to her medical interests, Dr. Tran enjoys cooking, knitting, and crocheting.
On behalf of the entire DCHS staff, it is our pleasure to have you joining our family and we wish you all the best!
