journey to excellence award

The Journey to Excellence Program

The Journey to Excellence program was initiated throughout Dickinson in both hospital and clinics approximately one year ago.  This comprehensive customer service program sets service standards for all employees and systematically trains staff in engagement techniques and the proper treatment of patients so their healthcare experience is as pleasant as possible.

Dickinson received the Michigan Alliance for Innovation in Maternal Health (MI AIM) Gold Star Award in 2019.  MI AIM Gold Star designation recognizes a commitment to improving overall maternal health outcomes. Implementation of the AIM Obstetric Hemorrhage and Severe Hypertension in Pregnancy safety bundles, the Dickinson OB Department works with other hospitals throughout Michigan to improve the health outcomes. We do this by fully equipping clinical staff in labor and delivery units with the education, equipment, protocols and hands-on training they need to prevent maternal death and to diagnose and treat severe, life-threatening complications that can occur during labor and delivery.
