Ready to help people when they need the help most. 24 hours a day. Seven days a week. 365 days of the year.
Patients coming to Dickinson County Healthcare Emergency Department can be assured of receiving care from a Board Certified Doctor licensed in Emergency Care. Our highly skilled nursing staff is also trained and certified to deliver outstanding Emergency Care. Our medical team is fully supported by the state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging equipment we need to assess injury and help us develop a plan of care.
The outstanding level of emergency care at Dickinson has earned us a Trauma Level 3 Certification from the American College of Surgeons. As a small rural hospital, our certification is at a level that ideally fits the needs of our community. We are certified to provide quick and accurate health assessments, life-saving resuscitation, surgery, intensive care and stabilization of patients requiring emergency operations. As well, our Trauma Level 3 certification means when a patient needs more advanced treatment and technology, we have systems and protocols hard-wired into place to transport that patient to a larger medical center out of the area.
The Dickinson Emergency Department triages over 25,000 patients a year to either the Convenient Care Clinic or the Emergency Department dependent on the severity of your illness or injury.
Our goal is to make sure that everyone is cared for in the very best way by our team. Sometimes, we have critical patients in the ER and a less critical patient may have to wait a bit longer. Regardless, we want to make sure you know that we will care for you as soon as we possibly can with the very best emergency care available in our region.
