Wound Healing/Hyperbarics
Advanced care for problem wounds
Healing people faster
An estimated 6.5 million Americans suffer from wounds that may not heal after months or even years of traditional treatment. These wounds are often painful and disrupt a patient’s lifestyle.
The MCHS – Dickinson Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine is an outpatient service committed to accurately diagnosing and effectively treating patients who suffer from problem wounds. We provide diagnostic interventions to quickly identify the cause of the problem, and then offer individualized treatment plans following nationally accepted guidelines to effectively treat the healing dysfunction. We are staffed by a specially trained team of doctors, nurses and other health care workers who provide the most advanced techniques, products and services available to facilitate the wound healing process.
As part of our commitment to serving the needs of our community, we offer the area’s first hyperbaric oxygen treatment center to assist in healing especially difficult wounds. Published medical and nursing evidence suggests that specialized centers for treating wounds improve outcomes by providing early and coordinated access to the full range of medical, surgical, and nursing interventions that may be required.
